In my Art of Figure Posing & Presentation Clinics, we work hard together to bring out your best; solid technical presentation, and individualized posing to help you bring your absolute best to the stage!

Today, I was joined by Francine Sablan, IFBB Pro, Olympian contender and this year’s NPC USA overall Figure champion. Francine has made a name for herself based on her presence on stage this year. She’s got an amazing competitive record at the regional, national and now pro level. She joined us today to share her experience with all the girls – thanks, Ms. Francine!


Today, we had 20 Bikini competitors and 11 Figure athletes, all prepping for the upcoming NPC events, the Titans, Border States and a few for the Excalibur event in December.  We worked hard, sweating and strutting in our heels!  It wasn’t an easy day for the girls, but by the time they finished turning, sweating and sticking their poses, they all shined!   Awesome job, ladies!  Keep on practicing – it’s almost show time!  I’ll see everyone at the upcoming NPC events!

I remember the first time I saw Francine. I thought to myself, “there’s something special about this girl.” She had just stolen the whole show at the 2010 NPC San Diego Championships – winning it all – with her smile and her well-conditioned physique.

Not just her physique, but her personality onstage, her charm is what captivated me. The sincerity of her smile drew me in, instantly. That’s when I thought, “this girl is going to be somebody special in our sport someday.” It was only her first show.

In the past year, I’ve had the chance to work closely with Francine as she trained and prepped for the 2012 NPC contest season. It’s been a tremendous year for her, no doubt. But it’s also been a blessing for ME, to be able to watch as this hard-working, driven young athlete as she made the journey not only to the IFBB Professional League with an overall victory at this year’s USA’s, but, by virtue of a hard-fought victory in her pro debut, she now prepares for the biggest show of all, Ms. Olympia!

She has worked so hard all year; I cannot say enough about how proud I am of her, for her dedication, her focus and her work ethic. When others would have packed it in long ago, Francine has kept pushing.

I just want to wish my sister-in-iron all the best as she completes her journey this year to the greatest show of all – God bless you, Francine. You’ve done all the work…now, it’s time to rock that stage, girl! Enjoy every moment – It’s your time to shine!

I’m so proud of all my girls who have worked so hard to dial in their condition for the spring/summer shows!

Starting with the California Championships, first of all, I have to say that I’m sooo happy – I worked harder than ever, and brought my physique in more streamlined and refined package – and feedback from the judges was good! I placed 4th out of a solid line up of 17 IFBB pro’s, some experienced girls and some beautiful rookies – which, to me, was so encouraging; I’ve had a few placings outside the top 5 recently, and I’ve had to work hard to take away muscle from my lower body, according to the judges recommendations. I think I’m on the right track, finally, and I’m thankful and re-invigorated!

Next, I have to say congratulations to my girl, my client Ms. Francine Sablan. Francine started working with Peter and I late last year, and has been an inspiration to our 619 MUSCLE family! She had an amazing year last year, and has all the potential in the world – plus, she works so hard, without complaint…She kicked major butt last week, winning the overall NPC Figure California – unanimously! Go get ‘em, girl! Next up for Miss Francine, USA’s!

And special congrats to our Miss Birgitte Gomes, who has worked hard with me all year…The Cals was an unplanned show on Birgitte’s schedule, but she has worked hard, and her physique has come in early – so, we decided to give the Cals a run. She ended up placing a very respectable 5th in the Figure A class – not bad, for a ‘warm up’ show as big as this!

NPC SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS WEEKEND!
For this weekend, my girls have all worked so hard, and are ready to strut and shine!

For Bikini competitors, kudo’s to Brittany, Juana, Tristan, Lillian, Candis and Paulina! They’ve all worked so hard, all year and will all be amazing this weekend!
For Figure competitors, Michelle, Audrey, Birgitte, Shuntae have also worked their tushes off, posing, and polishing their physiques and presentation – I’m SOOO PROUD OF ALL OF YOU!!

Here’s what we did! I called it the “SUNSHINE CIRCUIT” because the girls were able to work on their tans, while working on their booties!

Circuit 1: (repeat twice)
Deep squats, feet just outside of shoulder width x25 reps
Parking Lot lunges, 75 yards, weighted (60 strides)
Sumo Squats, (wide stance) x 25 reps
Parking lot (walking lunges) back, weighted (60 strides)

Back inside gym:
Circuit 2(repeat 3 times)
1. Leg press, close-stance, feet high-up on plate, 25 reps, 20 reps, 15 reps (increase weight each set)
2. Hack squat, plie (wide-stance), 25 reps, 20 reps, 15 reps (increase weight each set)
3. Stiff-deadlift (machine) 25 reps, 20 reps, 15 reps (increase weight each set)
4. Seated hamstring curl, 25 reps, 25 reps, 25 reps.
3 sets of this circuit, then stretch good!

Hey, girls!

It’s a new year, and that means competition season is almost apon us! Alot of exciting things are happening! Lindsay Productions has organized 2 more contests for the Southern California region for the new year, making it a total of 13 regional shows for 2012! More chances to get on that stage and strut your stuff!
With that being said, it’s time to get to work, girls! Almost time to put on those clear heels, and start practicing the walk, the strut, the swagger! It’s like we always say, “it’s not always the best physique that wins the contest…it’s the girl with the best presentation, the one that shines! She’s the one everybody is looking at!”

It’s a new year, and that means it’s the perfect time to set those resolutions. But you and I both know that those are just words, just empty promises to yourself, if you don’t take action! Get up off the couch, put down your iPad and put away the left-over Christmas cookies! Take action. Join the gym, plan your meals, and commit to regular exercise!

Honestly, email me, I’ll outline a plan for you, and send it right to your iPad! lol! I may not be good at bowling, but I know that I can help you achieve your fitness goals in the new year! (yes, I spent New Year’s day with some dear friends, bowling, and mostly laughing at myself! lol! I cannot bowl to save my life!)

Sincerely, it’s time to get up, take action, and make the new year count! Do something for yourself – take care of yourself! People around you that you might not even realize are inspired by you! Others surely look to you somewhere in your life for leadership, whether its your kids, your spouse, your friends, your co-workers or siblings…don’t let ‘em down! Inspire them, and make some positive changes to your own life!
